Day 5

June 16, 2011

Archived – click Post Title to view all. Today is the 5th day of the race. It is June 16, 18:52. Atmavir is still the leader, Pranjal is on the 2nd place, then Ashprihanal, Igor and Sarvagata. For this moment I have 290 miles. I’m still running in economic mode. Today in the morning it was very good, my legs were absolutely light, like if I had nor ran before at all. But then fatigue and muscle-twisting returned quickly, though in average today I am running a bit more quickly and perhaps I’ll make a couple of miles more than yesterday. Yesterday I had 59 miles. I was «squeezed» from 2 till 5 in the afternoon, so I ran slowly. But the most important thing is that none of our the most quick runners has passed by me during this time – neither Atmavir, nor Ashprihanal. And only when I started to do my first stretching this day I saw there was somebody on the course. This means, everybody was squeezed. And then when Ashprihanal caught up with me he said: ‘have you seen it, everybody runs so well – nobody come across each other!» So, Ashprihanal cut another joke this morning. As I said, he has got his toe sore and had to cut his shoe, he has never done it for 11 years on the race – he has never cut his shoes because there were no necessity in it. But today he had to cut it but and it was done very carefully and then he…

Something Deeper Will Appear

June 16, 2011

By Utpal, http://perfectionjourney.org/ When one decides to run the 3100 mile race it quickly becomes apparent that from the moment you take your very first step here that suddenly you are entering a very public arena.  You may have trained for months alone on soft mountain trails and felt the sweet stillness of nature comforting you with its beauty.  Perhaps you ran care free without any problem intruding into your life and felt contentment and peace in abundant measure.  This world is available here as well on the concrete loop here in Queens but it is an aspect of the race that does not come to all and never to all, all the time. read more

Day 4

June 15, 2011

Archived – click Post Title to view all. June 15, 20:13. The 4th day of the race. The sun has almost set down. And the day almost over. What to say, the paces of all the runners are getting more equal that is why you cannot run together with someone very often. My speed is increasing, but definitely I need a couple of days more to go through the transition period. Of course, in the evening my legs are aching and you can do not so many things with such legs. But everybody feels them aching, so we just have such a noise here! («bzz») Pranjal ankle is swollen, he runs a bit slowly, but I am sure this would not affect his miles too much because he is one of those who stays on the course until the very end, up to midnight in order to do his maximum. Ashprihanal has some infection under his nail, I have seen as Bipin was helping him to treat it with hydrogen peroxide. He also was walking for some time, but now he is running. Though his speed slowed down too. Today it was hot, I guess +28. And the temperature only now is getting down, but still it is stuffy, you can feel warm air. But all this is quite bearable, I think the surprises are ahead of us. The most important news: Purna-Samarpan has his Birthday today. He turned 34 years, and we were all wearing birthday hats at the start line. And as Rupantar announced start we were…

Have to run

June 15, 2011

Whenever we attempt to fully describe others we quickly begin to realize that each and every person is multifaceted.  That no one label can ever begin to adequately describe someone.  We are all composed of so many different qualities and capacities.  Most of us perhaps would like to picture ourselves in the, ‘jack of all trades, master of none category.’ read more..

Day 3

June 14, 2011

June 14, 3.14 p.m. we have the third day of 3100 race. All are alive and kicking, some are alive, some are kicking, some are not so good, but all are going ahead because there is no other direction. Purna-Samarpan and Ananda – Lahari are mostly walking today; the body is getting used to the training loads. In spite of feeling better, I am going to make fewer miles than yesterday. But the main thing is to keep the right state of mind, inner poise and joy. I think I can make a push later. Our newbies – Igor and Sarvagata –are pushing now. It seems that everything is very natural for them. they are fast runners by nature. Ashprihanal is running better than yesterday as well. He said that yesterday was a disaster. So everything is quite good, including the weather. I am even running in a long-sleeve T-shirt now because it is chilly. It has been + 16 since morning. Tomorrow it’s going to be colder. But for running it is just fine. The results on the official site of 3100 are keept up to date and our current miles are growing every day. you can see there.

It Touches The Whole World

June 12, 2011

Author: Utpal perfectionjourney.org 12.06.2011

From time to time groups of people sometimes get concerned that life on earth is suddenly going to end.  They have it on good evidence, it would seem, that our world as we know it is just going to stop being.  I have of course no evidence to contradict any of these theories, but certainly as of 6 am on June 12 the world was still functioning more or less as it always does.  10 runners stepped across the starting line, on a cool drizzling morning in Queens NY, to officially take part in the longest race in the world, the Self Transcendence 3100 mile race.
