Our Journey’s Goal by Utpal

June 18, 2013
June 17 The bright bell tone of the singing bowl radiates outward like a warm gentle breeze.  It’s sound is light, clear, and soothing.  It’s music reaches well beyond your ear and then on into some internal place calm, deep and still within the listener.  Utsahi smiles as he gently stirs his wooden mallet in a methodical even tempo around and around the worn outer rim of the bowl.  Something many other hands have probably done for more than a century.  Today the listeners are the runners who slip by and are only briefly caught up in its spell.

Day 3, Sahishnu

June 18, 2013

As the race progresses the runners always develop a sense of fitness and the effort marks on their faces recede as their smiles increase. Atmavir Spacil was smiling today as he led the group with 70.24 miles, his third venture past seventy in as many days. Both he and Vasu Duzhiy have the exact lap total of 397. Surasa Mairer climbed into fourth place overall with a 63.66 mile day. Also showing signs of true form was perennial favorite Ashprihanal Aalto. The Flying Finn reached 68 miles today. Another runner to watch is first timer Yuri Trostenyuk of Ukraine, who reached 66.9 miles to move into third overall. All 12 runners are averaging at least 61 miles per day. There is room for improvement too, regardless of foul weather or soaring temps. But with three moderate days in the forecast good running should be the norm and plenty of miles, too. Stay tuned.

Day 3, Pranjal

June 18, 2013

Archived – click Post Title to view all. This is the end of day 3. It was quite interesting day, at least for me. In the morning I was still suffering from yesterday, because I was not eating all day. So I felt a little energy and started to run, but energy gone in 2 hours. I started walking again and push myself to eat. After few more hours I got some strength back, but it was flowing slowly. I was pushing myself to eat, although my stomach was not accepting much. By the evening time I felt energy back. The weather was also interesting – hot in the morning 28C, in the afternoon started raining and it was continuing until 10 pm. It was not thunderstorm but it was raining all the time. Will see how it will be with our feet tomorrow. All the runners looked really, really good. After yesterday walking Ashprihanal was running all day and did pretty good mileage. Sarvagata the same. I guess Atmavir did one of the best mileages today. Almost all the runners ran until the end – till midnight, which is not really usual. Sopan was doing his own pace. Vasu was running pretty fast, I guess he will run even faster. Surasha looking really strong this year, she was passing me even in the evening when I started running.  Baladev said that he feeling a little bit tired. Yuri – same perfect running. Sarah, in spite of continuing problem with the feet was doing really good and in the evening…

Day 2, Pranjal

June 17, 2013

11 pm Day was tough. Yesterday vomiting was fun, but today it wasn’t. I couldn’t keep anything in my stomach. I was not really eating. Only at evening I could eat something so that would stay in me. Because it was not enough energy most of the time I was walking. It looks like everybody else is much stronger – they are running, except Ashprihanal. He was also walking. Sarah in spite having problem with foot was running like anything whole day. Vasu also – I think he is steal leading the course. Atmavir is also really fast. Ananda-Lahari is feeling much better than day before. Baladev was running all day, only at the evening he start walking. My day was really tough – even Ananda –Lahari took video of me falling asleep while walking. But because of my hard day everybody was trying to help me Girls are really fast – Surasa, Nidrhuvi was running all day.
